Abstract : Take-all disease is caused by the soil-borne fungal pathogen Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici (Ggt). This fungus attacks roots of cereals, causing necrosis and therefore reduces the plant capacities to uptake water and nutrients. This disease is one of the main root disease of cereals causing up to 50% of yield loss. In UK, an estimation done from Rothamsted indicates a loss of 60£ million per year due to take-all. No resistant varieties are available and only one fungicide, Latitude XL (silthiofam 125g/L), is available (Palma Guerrero et al., 2021). As a soil-borne disease affecting roots, take-all is difficult for farmers and agronomists to assess and monitor. If crop rotation (wheat after wheat) is well known to be very favorable for disease inoculum build-up, other parameters have strong importance. In order to better anticipate the risk, Certis Europe provides a more complex calculation tool. This tool is already used by agronomists and farmers (OAD Bonatitude, www.certiseurope.com). As the disease is seen to be increasing in the last few years (Valade et al., 2019), Certis Europe, in collaboration with Weather Force, tried to forecast the risk of take-all in the future, in the frame of climate change.
