Abstract : Sclerotinia (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) has been on the rise in recent years, especially on growing beans. This disease infects the crop at the flowering stage and causes rot to appear on bean pods. The result is lost yield for the producer. In this context, Syngenta in collaboration with professionals (UNILET and the vegetable industry sector), measured the contamination of the petals over three years using a biological test (petal kit, developed by CETIOM). A unique knowledge base was built, compiling 770 analyses from 443 fields collecting historical agronomic practices and meteorological events for over ten years. Multivariate analysis of this information can be used to offer the first decision support system (DSS) to help growers in spraying fungicide applications (Scan Bean). This means managing the damage to the bean harvest.
