Résumé : Le projet IWMPRAISE (Integrated Weed Management : PRActical Implementation and Solutions for Europe) a rassemblé différents pays européens, entre 2017 et 2022, dans le but d'étudier des méthodes alternatives de gestion des mauvaises herbes - moins dépendantes des herbicides - d'un point de vue technique, économique et environnemental. La force du projet a été de travailler en « cluster » afin que chaque pays partenaire puisse étudier et mettre en oeuvre des méthodes de lutte adaptées aux conditions locales. Ces stratégies sont différentes selon les pays, mais elles sont toujours basées sur une combinaison de méthodes. Cette communication présente la synthèse des essais sous un angle technico-économique. Le principal enseignement du projet est qu’il est possible de réduire le recours aux herbicides, tout en maintenant un niveau élevé de production et de rentabilité, en intégrant des leviers basés sur les dates de semis, le travail du sol, voire le désherbage mécanique.

Abstract : The IWMPRAISE project (Integrated Weed Management: PRActical Implementation and Solutions for Europe) brought together different European countries between 2017 and 2022 to study alternative weed management methods - less dependent on herbicides - from a technical, economic and environmental point of view. The strength of the project has been to work as a 'cluster' so that each partner country can study and implement control methods adapted to local conditions. These strategies differ from country to country, but are always based on a combination of methods. This paper presents a summary of the trials from a technical and economic angle. The main finding of the project is that it is possible to reduce the use of herbicides, while maintaining a high level of production and profitability, by integrating levers based on sowing dates, tillage and even mechanical weeding.
