Résumé : BIOPHYTO est un projet de recherche-développement, qui se déroule de 2012 à 2014 à La Réunion, et qui vise à développer la protection agroécologique des cultures dans les vergers de manguiers. Le partenariat repose sur la collaboration de onze organismes du monde de la Recherche, de l’Expérimentation, de la Formation et du Développement agricoles, ainsi que sur une cellule d’animation et de coordination (Chambre d’agriculture, Arop-Fl, Cirad). Douze producteurs participent au projet avec la mise à disposition de deux parcelles sur chaque exploitation : une parcelle « témoin » et une parcelle « BIOPHYTO » sans traitements insecticides et herbicides. De nombreux résultats sont obtenus dans le cadre du projet, notamment sur l’appropriation des producteurs pour des techniques telles que l’implantation et la gestion de couvertures végétales, sur la caractérisation et l’évolution de la biodiversité fonctionnelle, sur la caractérisation d’outils de valorisation commerciale d’une mangue sans insecticide, sur la production d’outils d’information, de formation et d’enseignement.

Abstract : BIOPHYTO is a Research & Development project that has taken place from 2012 to 2014 in Reunion Island, aiming at developing agroecological crop protection in mango orchards. The partnership relies on the collaboration of eleven organizations of Research, Experimentation, Training and Development in agriculture, as well as on an animation and coordination cell (Chamber of Agriculture, Arop-Fl and Cirad). Twelve growers have taken part in this project, with two orchard plots on each farm: a BIOPHYTO orchard plot, deprived of any insecticide and herbicide treatment, and a control one. Many results are visible during the evolution of this project, among which are the growers’ appropriation of techniques of implantation and management of vegetal covers, the characterization of tools improving the commercial appreciation of insecticide-free mangoes, in information tools production, in training and teaching.
